How to make friends and keep them

January 26, 2016
Friends sprot watching on TV, have fun, eat pizza. Friends to ea

This might turn out to be one of the most enjoyable posts I’ve had to put together for some time. Well, let me start again, no-one is telling me to do anything really, but one suggestion was made by one of our team members. She speaks from experience and seems to know what’s trending on the internet better than the rest of us. She simply suggested writing about friendship and such things. When I finally placed my bum on my chair to write this post, I hadn’t spent too much time previously thinking about the values of human friendship. Continue Reading…

When a leap of faith is needed

Human respecting and praying on sunset in the city background

I really feel compelled to write this post today. All I’m really going to be doing is sharing some thoughts on events leading up to the last few days in my life. It might be a difficult post to write, or perhaps the words will flow smoothly like a steam train’s smokestack with more than enough steam to carry it through at a gentle pace for a hundred miles or more. I say the post may be difficult to write because even at the best of times, I’m not the easiest girl to get along with and, depending on the friends or acquaintances I have around me, I do not share personal feelings easily. I like to believe that I have values which, admittedly, are not easy to live by. I’m not offering this up as an excuse for my own shortcomings at this time, I’m simply saying that, given what we’re all up against these days, it’s not easy to be the woman you want to be and believe you should be. Do you have quirky rituals worth talking about?

Praying hands of an old man with rosary beads

The question has been asked, because I’m a bit curious about this. Ok, call me nosy then. What got me motivated to write this post in the first place is based on the suggestion of our content manager and my thoughts afterwards. She suggested that we try to talk about rituals for a change. My thought was on the personal side. Our content manager didn’t give us any specific guidelines, so the idea was pleasingly an open one for us to explore. Initially, my thoughts were on religion. Smart Shopper written on a wooden cube in a office desk

Even if it seems late in the day, it’s never too late for an old bag to learn new tricks. But the designated writer of this post learnt a hard lesson in life and late in the day too. Fortunately, she’s far from being called an old bag. In conversation with a prospective landlady the other day, I happened to mention that my mission is influenced by having to start all over again. I’m not sure why she asked, but she wanted to know just how old I was. And when I told her, she exclaimed; oh, well, you’re still quite young enough to be starting again. Continue Reading…
