faz: love child in her past life, media junkie in the current, and rock star in the next.
When Fazillah Abdul Gaffa was a six-year-old preschooler in pigtails and pink dresses, she was made to stand in the corner of her classroom after writing a twenty-word essay. Apparently, her teacher thought her essay was ridiculous and flunked her. All because she wanted to be a strawberry when she grew up. Tsk.
Fast forward a couple years later, Faz, still in pigtails and pink frocks occasionally, is now an established writer/stylist with bylines the world over; her last stint, till Oct 2009, was being the Fashion Editor of luxury men’s magazine, VIP. She has since left VIP, and is now the Editor at Singapore Brides and she freelances at the same time.
Besides writing, Faz’s biggest passion in life is travelling and she can’t get enough of it. Faz’s unquenchable thirst to soak in the world’s most incredible cities has led her to taking over Austin, Berlin, Amsterdam, Shanghai, Rangoon, Hong Kong, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Bangkok, Paris, London, various cities in Belgium, Valencia, Ho Chi Minh City, Hamburg, Barcelona, New Delhi, Austin, and her favourite – New York City [twice in six months!]. All these in the past three years!
When she’s not up to her retinas with work, Faz hauls her ass to the gym, reads, and parties like a rockstar. She also indulges in her ridiculous obsession with pop culture and spends loads of time watching American TV series. She has also recently found an outlet to all her anger issues – through boxing classes. Move over, Million Dollar Baby.
And in case you were wondering, yes, she does plan on global domination traipsing in those killer 6” heels.
About thedramadiaries
What started in Oct 2005 on Livejournal due to pent-up creative energy and had a small readership of close friends, thedramadiaries quickly became an avenue to divulge, diss and discover and had a cult following that included students who aspire to one day be in the industry Faz is in, the pencil-skirted corporate world twenty-something who lives vicariously through Faz, and the voyeurs.
Thanks to a glitch in a photo hosting website in Aug 2009, thedramadiaries.com was transpired.
After a quick whiff of fairy dust, a little jiggle and a jig, thedramadiaries was launched when Faz went for her first European Fashion Week in Madrid, the Pasarela Cibeles, in September 2009.
