I really can’t remember how i found your blog. I practically live online & i’m always adding blogs to my list of MUST READS. Yours is one of the many that I frequent cos your style of writing & open mindedness is refreshing! When i looked through your portfolio, I was soooo impressed AND jealous! I’ve always wanted to be a Journalist but I never had an idol/someone to look up to. I am really NOT trying to kiss up to win material things, but you’re my Idol. You’re the epitome of what I want to be. I read your blog because that’s all i can do for now, in a corner of my dusty room that smells of Disney’s Cinderella parfum, while I travel the world through your posts (: I really hope to do something related to Fashion, Photography & OF COURSE Writing later in life (:

Name: Shella.S
Age: 19
Just a girl still trying to figure herself out and the world, I have a perpetual of missing out little things in life and to have them running away from my grasp forever. Life is depressing, but somehow Daim candies or pretty Topshop undies can make one feel much better, even for a while.
It’s simple why I read this blog, it’s different from who I am. Since opposites attract, I’m attracted to your blog like bees to honey. They made up of things that I’ve yet to have or experience, somehow that’s an inspiration of what/where I want to achieve/get/travel when I would one day be able to do so. Furthermore, it’s interesting to see whatever that I’ve yet to see or do. So your blog is the epitome of extraordinary-ness.

I’m 20, turning 21 this year & I currently study/reside in Switzerland. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE traveling & SHOPPING & shoes are just about my biggest weakness. Your blog never fails to crack me up, with tales of your adventures, be it in Singapore or overseas. I love looking at your photos, the clothes you wear, be in awe of HOW exactly you’re able to walk in shoes THAT high(cos srsly, I do 3 hours in them & I feel like chopping my feet off), the places you’ve been too & how colourful & exciting your life is. Please for the love of 5 inch stilettos, do not ever stop updating this place. xx

Hi Faz…
I am amanda and is 31….getting old, yeah…. =p Currently a Technical Controller in a Shipping Management Company. Been there for 9 years and on going….oh well.
I love shopping and all pretty stuffs. I love reading fashion blogs and has been following you since I discover your livejournal blog….Looked thru all your old posts and I must admit that it gets a little addictive. I used to check your blog for new updates every morning before I start work…like a starter before I have my breakfast….even since my company blocked “Live Journal” from the firewall server, this routine stops for a while. :( I am often too tired to switch on my laptop when I go back home….but if I have the chance, I will check out every now and then especially when I am on vacation, like my recent Japan trip. :D
I am thrilled to find out that your blog has moved to a new server and so I am able to reinstate my daily routine of checking out your blog while I am having breakfast in the office…. :)
For a young lady, I am amazed and admire your writing skills….too good. I wish that I can write like you. :)
Love,
Amanda

Boxful of goodies is making me all tingly already haha.
Here we go! I’m Serene, though some people call me Skiddy. I’m 32 this year, going on 22! My email address is insanegypsy@gmail.com :)
I’m from Singapore, and Melbourne is my second home. I’m mostly based in Singapore and my geek boyfriend in Melbourne. One day at a time is how we’re taking it. I’m so attached to my Dad I can’t move to Melb for good :(
I read this blog because all your adventures get me so jealous, but damn, I keep coming back for more hahaha. I love the fact that you post a lot of pics and you write good stuff, with a little sarcasm and twist too!
I work with kids! They’re preschoolers and my kids are all wonky haha. They all know my favourite colour is pink and the love that fact, especially the girls! I have the girls in my class sharing their hairclips with me haha. Mind you, they’re only 5 to 6 years old!
I’m a plus-sized chick and proud. My latest fetish would be fashion blogging. Started doing it on Facebook cause I had people asking me where I bought my stuff, etc. Heh, and honestly, it feels good to share and have people liking my style! I dress sensible and nice, and loud but mild. I love corsets and just stuff that catch my eyes. I love stuff from Jay Jays and most of my fashion shopping is done in Melbourne! I’m so damn good too at thrift stores it scares me!
Woopee!

(We’re all really jealous of you by the way. Ha! My friend who’s a med student now wants to be a fashion editor :P)
Anyhow, I follow thedramadiaries because you write really well and your photos are always so yummylicious! (:

name, age, email address and tell me a little about yourself and why you read this blog. Contest is open to anyone in all corners of the globe!
Hello my name is Lau Yoke Mun and i’m 18 going on 19 this year (a fun age to be!) and just finished the dreadful A levels…currently waiting for results which are hopefully not going to be as dreadful as the process. Currently doing something slightly different: I am interning under a junior college internship for MP Denise Phua, to work with psychologists to learn all I can about Autism, and also teach autistic children. Im doing this for the next 6 months, and surprisingly find it extremely enjoyable even though I always thought i wasnt made for teaching, especially teaching special needs kids!
Well, I suppose I read your blog because i find it an enjoyable and light-hearted read, also love the pictures, and the fact that you’re a local so i could definitely relate more to what you post, fashion-related or not. I love that you’re in the States now, and read more fervently since I am hoping to study there in the coming year, am still trying to make a decision and whether im ready to leave my comfort zone for somewhere foregin. its an amazing place though! good mix of slob lifestyle (e.g fast food and mad tv haha) and also excitement in the fervent shopping and places to visit.
hope you have a good time there, stay safe!

Hello Faz :)
I’m a 20-year-old Singaporean girl who adores fashion, hates blogshop clothes to the core because the THINGS they produce do not even deserve to be called garments, and wants to travel the world and the seven seas.
I read this blog because I live vicariously through you. When my life as a student gets boring and dreary (as is the case most of the time), i clickety-click on your link in my bookmarks folder and plunge myself into a world filled with style and pizazz :)
Loveee <333
February 15, 2010 @ 3:57 am
I read thedramadiaries because it’s almost as good as doing the things I would love the do and seeing the things that I would love to see, when I can’t do/see it myself. And also, because it’s pretty fantabulous (:
February 15, 2010 @ 12:06 pm
honestly, i got here through a link from a friend last year when you were still blogspotting. she was showing me the entry you had on the hot boys where they were all on the bed and stuff. from then, somehow, i find myself coming back regularly to the point where once i typed ‘the’ or ‘d’ into my address bar, thedramadiaries come up as one of the results.
let’s just say i come back because i don’t get out much, i can’t afford to, literally. all your travel entries and recommendations just makes me go, how should i put it, ‘wahhh’ it just makes so all envious and hopeful. and no, i’m not tryina be pretentious when i say hopeful here! then there’s the pictures that seem all too good and well, i sometimes take down lil details on certain places hoping that someday, if i do manage to make it there, i might get to check it out too!
so yeap, there you go.. why i read this blog of yours.
for the about myself bit, well my name’s rachel and i’m 21 this year. i still have no clue what i wanna do. no job, no sch, nothing. i hope this’ll do it!
do take care and have good fun in the US of A.

Hi! I’m Chloe and I’m 19 this year. Shopping is one of my favourite activities but sadly, I’m always broke these days. I love shoe shopping but then again, I have an ankle injury so I can’t wear heels. Haha.
I have been following your blog since your livejournal days and I love your posts! The photos are always beautiful, especially the shoe pictures :)
Also, the photos of the various places you’ve been to are breath-taking and I’m so envious :) If only I had the privilege to travel around the world..
Haha that’s all. I do hope that I would win the boxful of goodies!
February 17, 2010 @ 7:11 pm
i don’t know if this is still open haha just trying my luck!

I’ve been reading thedramadiaries since… god knows! i don’t even remember! since livejournal times, thedramadiaries’ always been a lovely mix of style, lovely things & wanderlusting. An eclectic mix that’s always manages to charm me ;)

TOP 5 REASONS WHY I READ YOUR BLOG:
1. Entertaining
2. Beautiful pictures
3. Wonderful insights
4. Informative
5. Addiction
You do know a little about me already! (Except maybe my age, but you know what they say never ask a lady for her age! Ha! Anyway I’m turning 25! Shhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!)
February 21, 2010 @ 2:40 am
Probably one of the oldest (and most loyal! haha) readers of your blog. I love reading your blog because I live vicariously through your adventurous streak and gung-ho attitude. Helps that unlike many who blogs, you write REALLY well. The pretty pictures and Love-List make my boring, “real people” banking job days better!
Anyhoo, enjoy yourself in NY and have a smashing time! xx

Hi, I’m Faezah and I’ve just turned 25 last week. :) I’m currently unemployed and I’m a cosmetic junkie! I like fashion too but don’t really dress up to the nines like you do. I love reading your blog and I pretty much envy you for being able to go places.
Regards,
faezah.

I am Grace, fellow Bedok-ian. (: No prizes for guessing my age, the email address is a dead giveaway, unfortunately.
I am proud to be one of those Singaporean girls (just like you!) who doesn’t fit the national average size of 165cm/ UK 6-8. I stand at 180cm, and finding shoes are a bitch but thank god UK 8/ US10 shoes are more common these days; hell I am not jealous that you’re a size up on me because I really wouldn’t like to have to deal with that problem. I hate it how most dresses here are made so short they barely cover the end of my bum.
By day I am a biology student who might tell you that you’re having a Gallus gallus for lunch, but by night (and every other internet moment) I am a fashion crazed girl who has an irrational love for fuchsia things, sexy neckline plunging dresses that I will never have enough occasions to wear them at (what, under a fugly white lab coat?), flouncy florals, dreamy silhouettes, the occasional androgynous clothes line and the ultimate pair of heels that scream sex. And it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who cares for these things. I’ve been stalking your blog for quite a couple of years now (at least 2 years I think), and keep coming back for your posts because they’re some of the things that I want to see. It’s got a good mix of everything I like (and more), and I love the occasional prose you write.
Gimme gimme box full of goodies! Like if you see shoes that are so gorgeous but a size too tiny for you, they could go into my box haha! Me me me! (((:

Ohh I would add, I’m actually kinda interested in the whole modelling business, but I don’t know how to get in. Any tips?

Hello, I’m Rachael and I’m 19 this year. I go by the nick name Riot (;
I read your blog because it’s like an escape to see the way in which you live your life, I’m always excited whenever I read your posts. I’m actually really envious of you and it’s cool to see all the amazing photos you take and the kinds of fashion that you wear. I think you’re a really lucky person with so many places to go and friends from all over the place.
I think everyone else on here would also comment about your style and how amazing it is that you travel so much. Well, I’d like to do that too soon enough. The pictures of places you post inspire me and it’s one of the reasons why I chose to go into media. I didn’t do so well for O’s so I’m currently in Republic Poly. I’d like to think that after I graduate I’d be able to study overseas and take the same kind of photos you take of the world- which are in other words, brillant.
It’s nice to be able to personally talk/write to someone who is real despite all the blogging and such! Thank you for reading this (:

Hey, here’s my entry for the contest – adapted from the one and only Langston Hughes.
“If someone were to ask me why I devour thedramadiaries by Ms Faz, this is what I would snap my fingers and sing (albeit in my nasal voice)…
Have you dug the spill
Of [ her DramaDiaries]?
Cast your gims
On this sepia thrill:
Brown sugar lassie,
Caramel treat,
Honey-gold baby
Sweet enough to eat.
[long legged] girlie,
Coffee and cream,
Chocolate darling
Out of a dream.
Walnut tinted
Or cocoa brown,
Pomegranate-lipped
Pride of the town.
Rich cream-colored
To plum-tinted black,
Feminine sweetness
[but her whip, beware].
Glow of the quince
To blush of the rose.
Persimmon bronze
To cinnamon toes.
Blackberry cordial,
Virginia Dare wine—
All those sweet colors
Flavor [Faz and her wares]!
Walnut or cocoa,
Let me repeat:
Caramel, brown sugar,
A chocolate treat.
Molasses taffy,
Coffee and cream,
Licorice, clove, cinnamon
To a honey-brown dream.
Ginger, wine-gold,
Persimmon, blackberry,
All through the spectrum
[Faz is the best!]—
So if you want to know beauty’s
Rainbow-sweet thrill,
S[c]roll down luscious,
Delicious, [Faz's lair].
Ok, well, whether or not I win, tis’ true you’ve always reminded me of Hughe’s Harlem Sweeties.”
February 22, 2010 @ 2:41 pm
Hi Faz,
this should be the appropriate place to say that sometimes it’s hard to believe that a person of my age edited not one, but several international fashion magazines and made so many beautiful and professional photo sets (that is you).

Of course I love New York City. If I had tickets to travel anywhere in the world, guess where I’d go?
I must have watched too much Felicity when I was younger, if you’ve ever seen Felicity–I’d totally do what she did and follow Ben to New York…heh
And of course all that SATC has made me decide to visit NYC at least once before I kick the bucket!!
I think it’s awesome you get to actually go to New york!! The first thing I’d do is thrift shop like crazy and get me something I heart NYC, and damn, I desperately want something from Geminola :)
I come by your blog to check out your adventures…followed you via livejournal.
I would have loved to be a stylist. But I really do love being a nurse, it’s just what I do best!
I’m at the tip of the big 3-0, and I’m excited about that :)
February 23, 2010 @ 12:34 am
i like reading your blog cos you’ve got kick-ass shoes!!! :)
send my love to new york!

My name is Swetha and I’m 21 years old. I was born in India, brought up in Singapore, and have been living in Qatar (it’s in the Middle East, or Southwest Asia if Orientalism annoys the crap out of you) for the past 3 and a half years. Needless to say, I’m confused. Heritage-wise, I’m proud of being Indian, although I’ll always relate more to Singaporeans because that’s home. And Qatar? Not only is it so different (in a good way), it’s my safe place since I live here alone. It’s where I’m getting an education (International Politics major at Georgetown University!), and perhaps most importantly, it’s where the man I love is from. So I’m confused, yes, but content. And your blog plays a part in it.
(I’m sorry, I realize that I just sounded like a typical advertisement for a charitable organization! Bear with me; my monologue is almost over.)
So I’ve been contemplating as to whether or not I should actually do this. I’ve been reading your blog since your livejournal days, and have followed you from country to country, job to job, shoot to shoot, love list to love list, and from one eatery to another. And then there’s your writing. The fresh, honest pieces of writing that are mysterious but tell us enough; that are so heartfelt that one can so easily picture the lump of sadness, anxiety, and gratefulness in your throat because it’s making its way into ours. The kind of writing that starts to fade during higher education and vanishes upon entering the working world, but you have gracefully held on to.
I remember sitting in India in the summer of 2008, planning my trip to Singapore. I was due to leave within the next couple of days, and wanted to make sure I was caught up enough and had a number of places to go so it wouldn’t be too much of a shock. While I do read a number of other Singaporean blogs, for some reason, I decided to only look through yours. And it was all I needed. I suppose I started reading your blog to feel at home while living miles away, but ended up gaining much more.
And the reason why I was unsure about doing this? The idea of reading your blog in silence for the past couple of years and continuing to do so would allow me to quietly send my good vibes without being known by you at all, and isn’t that always the best? On the other hand, however, at least when you’re in a rut, you can trust that there’s someone miles away who’s cheering you on. (And I won’t lie, a chance to win anything brings out the Singaporean and Indian in me…yeah, that’s twice as kiasu.)
I’m sorry that was unnecessarily long. I really need to learn to keep things short!
